our friend Rick Berry just doodled this in our kitchen, he calls it “familia”…a fortieth birthday gift I’ll hang somewhere near the marital bed. I’m turning forty in about 24 hours, on April 30th. it’ll be spend quietly…no shows, no fanfare. feedin’ a baby, with some friends.

I’ll try to write a long birthday  blog here to the Patreon and cross-post it elsewhere, but in case I fall into a haze or you miss it over the weekend, I’ll summarize: I’m drowning in exhausted gratitude and I thank every one of you who has touched or pulled a thread in this expansive and bombastic web of art, life, connection, stories, wine and music. and now baby.

everything comes and goes.
