ninja video attack!!!! 8in8 videos are rolling in! make one!
someone yesterday on twitter suggested that we should challenge everyone to make super-fast videos in the spirit of the 8 in 8 recording session.
so we did. i suggested people try to make videos and get them in by SUNDAY NIGHT at the latest.
and the video started rolling in, and the results are getting HOTTER and HOTTER and AWESOMER by the minute.
me, neil, ben, and damian are like IT’S CHRISTMAS ALL THE TIME because every time we get online there’s a new awesome video.
VIVA LA INTERNET!
i also love that it’s spring and people are obvi aching to get outside – so many are being filmed in someone’s backyard, or in the woods, like this one:
my first favorite, put up almost immediately after we put the call out:
here’s a beautiful animation for “the problem with saints”:
and here’s a handful more:
youtu.be/G756AnHfHjQ (for “the problem with saints” by eruanna317)
youtu.be/rFI4B1bmhy0 (for “twelve line song” aka “the squirrel song” by celticqueen8)
youtu.be/PYBJLG5zFes (using “The Passion of Joan of Arc” by KeyboardAttacker0)
youtu.be/AjrDHtT78lM (for “one tiny thing” by gemmccoy)
vimeo.com/23056760?ab (for “because the origami” by Nana)
vimeo.com/22959553?ab (for “one tiny thing” by Cutesy but not Cutesy)
some people have been COVERING the songs, too. totally legit!
here’s a beautiful take on “the problem with saints” by @arch4ngel:
and here’s samantha (aka politelyoffend) doing a uke cover of “nikola tesla” after i tweeted the chords:
NOT LIMITED TO THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE!!!!!!!
in fact, i’d be very excited if, as teased on twitter, people sent in cover versions in
ASL (american sign language)
conclusion: you guys are fucking awesome.
if you want to make a video, we’re watching EVERYTHING!!! add the “8in8” tag to your videos, and e-mail us links: email@example.com….we’re making an 8 in 8 micro-site, and will have a place for all of this amazing art.
we’ll post more of our favorites, early next week…..
