FREE TICKETS TO “THERE WILL BE NO INTERMISSION” for GOV’T EMPLOYEES
(public post)
hello my loves….
well, i don’t know if you JUST saw the news about the government shutdown – THANKS FOR GETTING IT TOGETHER, GOVERNMENT….and thanks truml for wasting ai few weeks of our lives for almost no reason given we are back where we started….
f you haven’t heard the news, here’s an article from the guardian:
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/jan/25/shutdown-latest-news-trump-reopens-government-deal-democrats
i am STILL going forward with this plan to give away tickets, because the team has been working on it all week, and just because the shutdown has ended (temporarily) it doesn’t mean that our government employees haven’t (and won’t still have to deal with) a load of suffering because of this shitshow.
i’ve worked with my theater venues and promoters at ALL SIXTEEN AMERICAN VENUES LISTED BELOW (sorry not sorry canada, but you had no shutdown, yo) and we have set aside TWENTY FREE TICKETS for each show for anyone who can prove that they are a united states government employee.
there are instructions, they are simple, follow them, they are all below.
my team had some really interesting chats about this, and there were some who were concerned that this would be a bad look for us. like, with all of the people donating money and food to federal workers, would it look tasteless to offer up CONCERT TICKETS. and i was like: fuck that.
listen…WE ARE A COMMUNITY. an art community. i am an artist. each according to their need, each according to their ability. concert tickets are what i have to give. so that’s what i’m giving.
and also…humans cannot live on bread alone. we need art, theater, music, places to commune, places to feel, places to cry, places to hope. that’s my job, that’s what *I DO* goddamit while all these other people run our country, keep our airports staffed, deal with our boring tax shit, make roads driveable, keep our national parks beautiful and protected, and thousands of other tasks that we shouldn’t take for granted.
so, COME, government employees. wherever you are. this one’s on me.
i’m playing in DC! some of you MUST work in government, at the state dept, or at the smithsonian!! use this chance. i am doing this cause i wanna. take advantage of it. don’t feel guilty. TAKE THE DONUT TICKETS.
here’s how to do it all….
tickets will be issued on a first come, first served basis until the show allotment has run out.
tickets can be claimed at the venue box office during normal business hours for ALL of the shows listed below EXCEPT for the Chicago and New York shows. to request tickets for the Chicago or New York shows, please fill out the online forms linked below.
to claim tickets for every show (excep chicago and new york) you can go to the venue box office for the show of your choice during their normal business hours and tell them you’d like to claim the free federal worker tickets for the amanda palmer show – make sure you know the date of the concert you want to see, that will be helpful information for the box office teller.
present the box office with your photo ID along with your government employee ID, or other identification credentials that shows you are an employee of the united states’ federal government. you can ask for 1 ticket for yourself, or for 2 tickets so you can bring a guest to the show with you.
tickets are non-transferrable and have no cash value, this offer is for ticket admission only, transportation and accommodation will not be provided.
you’ll find all the show dates, venues, and more details below.
each city has a hyper link to that show’s online ticket link – these links have more information about each venue and details for the concerts. you’ll also see a link to the venue’s website and box office help page, where you can find venue addresses, box office phone numbers and general information on the venue and their box office details.
please be aware that sometimes a venue’s box office is located at the venue itself but sometimes it’s not – make sure you read all the information on the venue’s website before you head out to claim your tickets.
all box office times below are in local time zones.
NOTE: this offer is open to THE PUBLIC – NOT JUST PATRONS. go ahead and spread the word to people you know who can take advantage of it.
