poem from lance.

lance, who you will remember as my friend who came out to his parents a few weeks ago (they still aren’t talking to him as far as i’ve heard) and who was told he was allergic to chocolate by his mother only to find out it was all lies, read my blog and wrote a poem in response.

i rarely do this but it was so fucking beautiful i thought i’d repost:

In the Dark
Rooms, developing slowly
I reach, you’re telling me something,
I need to, your hand on the pillow
I tell you, the note in the bottle.

I’m smashed, you?
You’re sentimental,
I own, you’re an au pair parental
Apart meant we shared what we could
And it shattered the bad from the should.

In the Dark,
I’ll devour you,
On the hour,
As you strike
As my hand touches yours
In the Dark,
I’ll taste every inch
And as chocolate runs from your lips
So will I
In the dark.

You knew all about it
You parted oceans throughout it
You threw those down who you doubted
But you doubted you doubted you doubted

Indebted to hunger
Imbedded Persephone
Everyone turning around
As we disappear
We’re light fantastic
We burn pomegranates
At both ends, the planet spins,
Taken for granted

I swallow
every last morsel
I tell you, nothing I’d change
Maybe airplanes:
No room for jumping
And waterbeds
Unmade for dryhumping

We pass in the night,
Two by sea, burning bright
As we’re there, in our sight
I wish I may I wish I might

In the Dark,
I’ll devour you,
On the hour,
As you strike
As my hand touches yours
In the Dark,
I’ll taste every inch
And as chocolate runs from your lips
So will I
In the dark,
I’ll devour you,
On the hour,
As you strike
As my hand touches yours
In the Dark,
I’ll taste every inch
And as chocolate runs from your lips
So will I
In the dark,
I’ll devour you,
On the hour,
As you strike
As my hand touches yours
In the Dark,
I’ll taste every inch
And as chocolate runs from your lips
So will I
In the dark.

(I wish I may I wish I might
I wish I may I wish I might
I wish I may I wish I might)
